Biodiesel Synthesis from the Used Cooking Oil Using CaO Catalyst Derived from Waste Animal Bones

The synthesis of biodiesel from the used cooking oil with CaO catalyst waste animal bones has been investigated. content free fatty acids (FFA) in was reduced by adsorption using activated charcoal a salak peel. Biodiesel carried out via transesterification catalyst. obtained calcined Ney Vulcan furnace. effect calcination temperature studied range 873‒1273 K. loading investigated varying within 1‒9 wt %. methanol to molar ratio 6:1 18:1. reaction time variation 1‒5 h. optimum operating conditions were determined. Under these conditions, yield produced 97.56 % an ester 96.06 It shown that physicochemical properties meet standards.
